Holiday Season

I'm so sad fall is almost over. It was so cold today I feel like we're almost past just sweaters and sweatshirts... and I HATE bulky winter coats. :( But with the passing of fall comes HOLIDAY SEASON and CHRISTMAS SHOPPING. :) I have a show this Saturday (October 30th) from 10-4 at the IUPUI Student Center on Vermont and University. Admission is free so come out and support handmade. :)

I'm working on a few home parties for this winter as well, so if you'd like to host one and earn free jewelry - contact me asap! My schedule is filling up quickly. :) I'll also have a booth at the Hendrick's County Holiday Fair and the Southport "That Something Special" show. Message me or comment for details now - I'll be posting more information as they get closer. :)

I'm also very excited to be spending Halloween weekend with some of my favorite friends in Brown County. It's SO beautiful there, and it only seems right to spend a night in the middle of the woods the night before Halloween. :)

Posted is a picture from our night's stay at the haunted Story Inn. More pictures on my facebook page. :)

October!

I'm so excited for this weekend! A group of friend and I are going to Story, Indiana to stay in their Haunted Inn! Check it out here! It's completely in the middle of the country and the whole small town has been restored into cabins and the inn you can stay at. The Inn is supposedly haunted by the Blue Lady - and we'll be staying right next to her room. There are no alarm clocks, tv's, refrigerators etc. We'll have to get dinner in Nashville or Bloomington and bring coolers for drinks and games to keep ourselves entertained. I could not be more excited. It's the perfect way to celebrate fall! I'd be lying if I said I wasn't excited about the potential shopping in Nashville the next day too. :)

Autumn always makes me feel nostalgic, probably from the fairs and outdoor festivals in old towns. I love things with history; that tell a story. I recently purchased a box of old slides from an estate sale, and I've been totally inspired to work them into a new jewelry line. I've started making looking glass photo slide jewelry. I'm absolutely in love with them - it's like being allowed just a glimpse into someone's past and carrying it around with you. Taking someone else's memory and adding to it with your own experiences while you wear the piece. They are all long chain's (25" - but can be requested at other lengths) Each necklace is one of a kind and feature pictures of animals, people, places, buildings, etc. The pictures range from family gatherings, candid pictures, family vacations, and flowers. Check them out in my shop.

I've also recently had a great show at Rocky Ripple, and should be in the works of getting my jewelry in a spa at the Indianapolis Airport! Very exciting! :) I've also opened an Artfire shop - so if you're in the Artfire more than Etsy (you don't have to be a member or have Paypal to purchase) check it out here. Happy Fall! <3
